Yummy Salad
Ingredients
bag of lettuce leaves
vine ripened tomatoes
cucumber
1 red pepper
1 avocado
spring onions
olives (optional)
vegan french dressing
Because of the lovely range of colours in this salad it looks best spread across the plate rather than tossed in a bowl. You can add the dressing in a bowl on the side or drizzle some on the top.Can anyone share their lettuce salad recipes?
take some baby greens and toss them into a bowl add a can of artichoke hearts and cubes of feta cheese and a ton of garlic then add salt and pepper balsamic vinegar and olive oil and some greek olives and voila there is a yummy salad. Can anyone share their lettuce salad recipes?
Mexican Salad:
The lettuce: baby greens, or good ol iceburg
The veggie toppers(mix together): tomatoes, diced onion, diced avocado, black beans (drain and rinse canned beans)
The cheese: shredded monterey jack or that yummy white mexican cheese that's used in queso dip.
The creamy dressing: sour cream, thinned with a bit of heavy cream, lime juice, chopped cilantro, minced garllic, minced jalepeno, salt.
The (optional) meat: pre-cooked southwest chicken breast pieces, warmed in microwave OR left-over taco meat.
Serve with: Tortilla chips or warmed corn tortillas.
Drink: Limeade(simply lime is the best, go for all-natural) with some tequila in it.
7 layer Salad: bottom layer- Lettuce, next carrots, thawed green peas (not canned, not cooked) boiled eggs, tomatoes, Miracle whip, shredded sharp cheddar cheese. You can substitute to your liking. I like to fix this for picnics and friends. Yummy!
I use fresh spinach leaves rather than lettuce - more vitamins and nutrients, plus more flavor!
Here's a salad that's colorful, flavorful, and quick to make:
1 head green leaf lettuce
1 Roma tomato
1 yellow pepper, cut into strips
Some FRESH basil
cut lettuce, put in bowl, server with or without other veggies or dressing
